Rajouri, Jan 4: The Mughal Road has been restored for the movement of traffic and authorities have notified a fresh time slot for the passage of vehicles on the historic road.

The vehicles will only be allowed to move towards the road for four hours in the afternoon.

The decision to curtail the day-long movement of vehicles has been taken in view of slippery conditions during morning and evening hours.

The Mughal Road has remained closed since Thursday due to the accumulation of snow amid bad weather conditions.

Officials said that on Sunday morning, the road was restored for the movement of vehicles and traffic from both sides was allowed.

In a fresh notification, the Traffic Police informed that normal movement of vehicles on Monday would be subject to fair weather and good road condition and also after getting a green signal from the road maintenance agency, GREF.

Traffic Police also informed that the vehicles would be allowed to move over the Mughal Road only for a time slot of four hours.

“These vehicles shall be allowed from Chandimarh, Baffliaz, towards Shopian and Herpora, Shopian, towards Poonch between 10:30 am to 2:30 pm,” Traffic Police officials said.

No vehicle will be allowed after the cut-off time, the Traffic Police statement said.
