Srinagar, Jan 03: The Jammu and Kashmir Water Sports Kayaking and Canoeing Association on Friday flagged off a 30-member contingent for participation in the 14th Dragon Boat National Championship, scheduled to be held from January 6 to 9, 2026, at Lower Lake, Bhopal.
The championship is being organised by the Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association, the countryโs only authorised body for kayaking and canoeing water sports.
The J&K Dragon Boat Team was flagged off by Ms. Bilquis Mir, Jury Member for Olympic Kayaking and Canoeing and an international athlete in water sports (kayaking and canoeing).
From the association, Dr. Rafiq-ul-Din, Vice President of the Jammu and Kashmir Water Sports Kayaking and Canoeing Association, was also present during the flag-off ceremony.
The occasion was marked by an atmosphere of pride and emotion, as parents expressed happiness and confidence while watching their sons and daughters represent Jammu and Kashmir at the national level.
Parents expressed heartfelt gratitude to the association for providing their children with a platform to excel and showcase their talent on the national stage.
