Srinagar, Jan 5: Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) National Convenor Nasir Khuehami, on Monday met political strategist Prashant Kishor, at his residence in New Delhi and held an in-depth discussion on issues concerning Kashmiri students, youth leaders, and emerging voices from the region.

The discussion focused extensively on the need to democratise youth and political leadership in Kashmir and to create inclusive, merit-based pathways for young people seeking to enter public life and governance.

Issues related to ethical leadership, the professionalisation of politics, evidence-based strategy, grassroots mobilisation, and the integration of Kashmiri youth into national policy and governance platforms were also deliberated upon, said a press release.

Khuehami said: “ Kishor is set to arrive in the Kashmir Valley on February 2, to participate in a youth interaction programme being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association at Tagore Hall, Srinagar. He will attend the programme as the Chief Guest and engage in a one-on-one interaction with students and youth leaders. During his visit from February 2 to 5, he is also expected to meet young professionals, youth leaders, and students from across the Valley.” The interaction aims to bridge existing gaps in exposure and understanding among Kashmiri youth in areas such as policy formulation, political consultancy, leadership development, governance processes, and democratic participation. Kishor is expected to share insights on career pathways, political communication, governance reform, election management, campaign war-room operations, communication strategy, and outcome-oriented governance. The programme is expected to provide valuable national-level exposure to Kashmiri students and youth leaders, strengthen their confidence, and encourage informed and constructive participation in democratic processes.
