Kathua, Dec 26: Senior Superintendent of Police Kathua, Mohita Sharma, on Friday reviewed the security scenario and operational preparedness of police and Special Operations Group (SOG) units in the Billawar and Malhar areas of the Kathua district in view of the prevailing security situation and the upcoming New Year.
During the visit, SSP Kathua inspected the Guddu Falal area of Billawar and the Katli area of Malhar to assess ground-level security arrangements, met Special Operations Group (SOG) jawans and checked their operational preparedness.
Officers and jawans deployed on the ground were briefed to remain alert and vigilant and to strictly adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs).
SP Upper Kathua briefed SSP Kathua on the strategies and preparedness of SOG units to counter the nefarious designs of anti-national elements.
He also highlighted the operational requirements of police personnel deployed in the field.
During the review, SSP Kathua emphasised the importance of maintaining peace and security in the area.
She directed all officers to remain extra vigilant and proactive in their respective jurisdictions. Stressing the need for robust coordination among various security agencies, SSP Kathua underscored that effective inter-agency cooperation is crucial to addressing potential security challenges in the future.
