Jammu, Dec 27: Security forces have been placed on high alert across Jammu province in view of the prevailing security scenario and the approaching New Year, with the Army, Police and CAPFs intensifying Area Domination Operations in border areas as well as the hinterland to thwart any potential threat.
All ten districts of Jammu province, especially Udhampur, Kathua, Doda, Kishtwar, Reasi, Rajouri and Poonch, are already under very tight vigil of forces, keeping in view the suspected presence of some terrorist groups in these districts. Dozens of encounters, contacts between terrorists and forces have happened in the districts in the current year.
With security forces already issuing regular security alerts, security forces are presently exercising a maximum security alert in the province.
In all border areas, including along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri, Poonch and Jammu districts, and border areas along the International Border (IB) in the Jammu, Kathua and Samba districts, forces are on highway state of alertness both on the border line and in the immediate hinterland areas.
In areas along the International Border, both the BSF and the Jammu and Kashmir police are conducting regular operations for area domination and area sanitisation.
On Saturday, troops of the BSF under the Jammu frontier, in coordination with J&K Police, conducted aggressive searches in the depth areas of villages Rangoor and Malluchak of Samba.
These operations, BSF said, were aimed at enhancing area domination, strengthening security, and fostering effective operational synergy between the forces.
Similarly, in hinterland areas of Jammu province, forces are carrying out aggressive Area Domination Operations (ADOs) as well as precautionary Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs), especially with an aim to track the movement of suspected terrorists hiding in areas.
Senior officers of police as well as the Indian Army are carrying out frequent visits to the hinterland and remote areas of these districts to supervise the operations on the Counter Terror (CT) front.
