Srinagar, Jan 2: The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has invited aspiring women fast bowlers from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh to participate in the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) new talent identification initiative titled “WPL Speed Queen 2026”.

The nationwide programme, as per a JKCA statement issued on Friday, launched by the BCCI, will commence on January 5 and is aimed at unearthing emerging fast-bowling talent among women cricketers while providing them a structured platform through State Cricket Associations.

According to JKCA, Jammu & Kashmir has been placed in the Delhi Zone for the trials. The zonal trials will be held across multiple cities, beginning with Delhi on January 5, followed by Ghaziabad (January 6), Noida (January 7), Gurgaon (January 8), Meerut (January 9), Jaipur (January 10) and concluding again in Delhi on January 11.

JKCA has appealed to eligible women fast bowlers from the region to register and participate in the programme by enrolling online at the official portal of the initiative.

The association, in the statement has clarified that participating players will be required to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements during the trials.
