Udhampur, Jan 2: Minister for Youth Services and Sports Satish Sharma on Friday interacted with and felicitated taekwondo players from Udhampur district who won medals at the 69th National School Games, lauding their achievement and assuring government support for their future training and development.
Congratulating the players on their outstanding achievement, the Minister, as per the statement issued by the DYSS, lauded their dedication, perseverance, and disciplined approach, stating that such performances reflect the growing sports culture in Jammu & Kashmir. He encouraged the players to continue striving for excellence and assured them of full government support in their future sporting endeavours.
During the interaction, Satish Sharma took stock of the requirements of the players related to training facilities, equipment, and other logistical support. He assured that all genuine needs would be addressed on priority, reiterating the government’s commitment to nurturing sports talent from the grassroots level across the Union Territory.
As a token of encouragement, the Hon’ble Minister distributed an amount of Rs 6,300 among the medal-winning players.
The Minister appreciated the efforts of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, UT of Jammu & Kashmir, especially Director General of Youth Services and Sports UT of J&K Anuradha Gupta, JKAS, for her consistent work in identifying and grooming young talent at the grassroots level. He also commended the role of the District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO), Udhampur, Romesh Chander Mishra and his team for their dedicated contribution towards the promotion of sports and the production of national-level players from the district.
Present on the occasion were Jaswinder Singh, in charge of activities, along with Jatin Sethi and Sanjeev Khajuria, who also congratulated the players for their achievements.
