Srinagar, Jan 3: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has condoled demise of well-known bureaucrat Muhammad Aslam Laigaroo.
“Party President Ms @MehboobaMufti has expressed her deepest condolences on the passing of Mohd Aslam Laigroo Sahab, uncle of party leader Arif Laigroo. A distinguished administrator and accomplished sportsman, his service, integrity, and contribution to J&K’s public life and sporting legacy will be remembered with respect. May Allah Tallah grant him the highest place in Jannah and give patience to the bereaved family,” a post on PDP’s official X handle said.
Meanwhile, a delegation of PDP, led by Party General Secretary Muhammad Khursheed Aalam, visited the residence of party leader Arif Laigaroo at Hyderpora to offer condolences.
The PDP delegation included former minister Nayeem Akhter, MLA Pulwama Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, Party Spokespersons Muhammad Iqbal Tramboo, Zuhaib Yousuf Mir and Mohit Bhan, Media Coordinator Bashir Ahmad Beigh, District President Srinagar Abdul Qayoom Bhat, former MLA Noor Muhammad Sheikh, District Coordinator Dr Ali Muhammad, Office Secretary Ghulam Qadir Shawl, Syed Basharat Siddiqi, Sheikh Gowhar, District President Youth Budgam Mushtaq Zuhami, Mohd Umer Dar, Mir Khalid, Tufail Ahmad Bhat, Tahir Lone, along with several other PDP leaders and senior workers.
The delegation prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and conveyed their sympathies to the bereaved family, particularly Irfan Aslam Laigaroo, Zeeshan Aslam Laigaroo, and Mehran Aslam Laigaroo, sons of the late Mohammad Aslam Laigaroo. They prayed for strength, courage, and patience for the family to bear this irreparable loss.
Meanwhile, prominent hotelier Mushtaq Chaya, MLA Hazratbal Salman Ali Sagar, former MLA Abbas Wani, Provincial Secretary Youth National Conference Sheikh Owais, SP South Shabir Khan, and Joint Commissioner SMC Syed Abu Qasim also visited the residence separately and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul. Among others who visited Laigroo’s residence include Congress leaders Abdul Gani Khan, Ghulam Nabi Monga, Irfan Naqeeb, ANC leader Muzaffar Shah, Businessman Owais Guroo, Dr Salim Wani and Shakeel Qalander.
