Jammu, Jan 4: Senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers – Principal Secretary, Finance J&K Santosh D Vaidya and Secretary Health and Medical Education Department, J&K Syed Abid Rasheed Shah were among 31 officers of AGMUT cadre, transferred and posted by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Besides, the MHA also ordered the transfers and postings of 18 Indian Police Officers of AGMUT cadre.
In the reshuffle effected just a month ahead of the commencement of its budget session, the J&K along with its Ladakh Union Territory witnessed the reshuffling of 14 IAS officers and six IPS officers, who have either been transferred from or posted in the two UTs.
From J&K, Santosh D Vaidya (1998 batch) and Administrative Secretary, Public Grievances Department, Niraj Kumar of 2010 batch) have been shifted from Jammu and Kashmir to Delhi, while Syed Abid Radhid Shah (2012 batch) has been transferred from J&K to Chandigarh.
Baseer Ul Haq Chaudhary (2015 batch), presently Mission Director National Health Mission has been transferred to Ladakh from J&K; Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai (2016 batch) has been shifted to Delhi from J&K.
Among other IAS officers reshuffled, Ashwani Kumar (1992 batch) has been transferred from Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir, while Sanjeev Khirwar (1994) has been moved from Ladakh to Delhi. Shurbir Singh (2004) has been transferred from Delhi to Ladakh, while R Alice Vaz (2005) has been shifted from Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir. Michael M Dsouza of 2015 batch has been transferred from Ladakh to Goa.
Anjali Sehrawat (2013 batch) has been transferred from Delhi to J&K; Sagar D Dattatray (2014 batch) has been shfted from Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman Diu to J&K while Akriti Sagar and Kumar Abhishek, both IAS officers of 2016 batch have been moved to J&K from Arunachal Pradesh and Delhi respectively.
Among IPS officers moved out of J&K included Rajinder Kumar Gupta of 2014 batch and Shobhit D Saksena of 2015 batch.
IPS officer of 2018 batch Shruti Arora has been transferred from Ladakh to Goa.
Prashant Priya Gautam, an IPS officer of 2013 batch, has been transferred from Delhi to J&K; Sudhanshu Dhama of 2016 batch has been shifted from Arunachal Pradesh to J&K and Sunny Gupta of 2020 batch has been transferred from Andaman and Nicobar and posted to Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the MHA order, the transfers have been ordered with immediate effect and until further orders with the approval of the competent authority.
