In order to curb the menace of illicit distillation of liqour in the area, Seluthes of Excise department Doda range destroyed 60 litre of Lahan and illicit liquor in Trown area of District Doda.Â
On the direction of Excise Commissioner Mohd Javed Khan and under the supervision of Dy Excise Commissioner Executive Syed Muried Hussain Shah conducted a series of excise raids in villages shangroo, Bounjai and Trown areas of Tehsil Bhalla.
During raids two persons namely Yog Raj s/o Bishan Dass, Kalyana Devi w/o Budhi Ram r/o Sandhai shangroo were booked under Section 48 of excise Act.
In the process 8 bottles of illicit liqour were recovered from both the accused. Besides 60 kg of lahan recovered from state land was destroyed on the spot.
