Fire breaks out at CRPF camp in Karan Nagar

Srinagar, Dec 16: A fire incident was reported at the 49 Battalion CRPF camp in the Karan Nagar area of Srinagar on Thursday morning, prompting a swift response from Fire and Emergency Services.

According to officials, the State Fire and Emergency Control Room at Batamaloo received a distress call at 9:55 am. Fire tenders from the Fire and Emergency Services Headquarters were immediately dispatched at 9:56 am, and firefighting operations were initiated without delay.

Given the congested nature of the locality and the presence of several commercial establishments in the surrounding area, additional fire tenders and water boozers were deployed as reinforcement to prevent the fire from spreading.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that the mandir premises within the 49 Battalion CRPF camp had caught fire. A coordinated and rapid firefighting operation was launched, and the blaze was brought under control after a brief but intense effort.

Officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire is being ascertained.

Fire and Emergency Services authorities said timely intervention helped avert a major mishap in the densely populated area.
