The post Celebrate Dhanteras by Starting An SIP in Mutual Funds for A Prosperous Future appeared first on Greater Kashmir.

]]>
Dhanteras is a special occasion for many people in India. It marks the beginning of the Diwali festival and is a time for new beginnings, wealth, and prosperity. Many choose to buy gold or silver on this day, but there’s another way to celebrate that can bring long-term benefits: starting a Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) in mutual funds.

What is an SIP?

SIP, or Systematic Investment Plan, is a method of investing in mutual funds. Instead of putting in a large amount of money all at once, you invest a smaller, fixed amount regularly. This could be daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly. It makes investing more manageable and helps you build wealth over time.

Why choose mutual funds?

Mutual funds pool money from many investors and invest in a variety of assets like stocks, bonds, or other securities. They are managed by investment professionals who have experience in choosing suitable investment options. Investing in mutual funds through SIP has several advantages:

Rupee Cost Averaging: Since you invest regularly, you buy more units when prices are low and fewer when prices are high. This averaging helps reduce the impact of market volatility on your investments.

Discipline: A mutual fund sip investment instills a habit of saving and investing regularly. This financial discipline can lead to better wealth creation in the long run.

Flexibility: You can start with a small amount and gradually increase your investment as your income grows. Many funds also allow you to pause or stop your SIP if needed.

Power of Compounding: Over time, your investments can grow through the power of compounding. This means you earn returns not only on your initial investment but also on the returns that accumulate over time.

Why start an SIP this Dhanteras?

Dhanteras is all about new beginnings and financial prosperity. Here are a few reasons why starting an SIP on this day makes sense:

Symbolic start: Investing on a day associated with wealth can be seen as a positive start. It aligns your financial goals with the spirit of the festival.

Focus on long-term wealth: While buying gold or silver can offer short-term gratification, investing in mutual funds through SIP is a step toward building long-term wealth.

Easy to Start: Many mutual fund companies allow you to set up an SIP online in just a few minutes. This means you can begin your investment journey from the comfort of your home.

Utilize sip calculator online: To plan your investments effectively, you can use an SIP calculator online. This tool helps you estimate how much your investments can grow over time, based on the amount you plan to invest, the duration, and the expected return rate. Knowing the potential returns can motivate you to start your SIP and stay committed. However, actual performance is subject to market conditions.

How to start an SIP?

Starting an SIP is simple. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

Choose a mutual fund scheme: Research different mutual funds to find one that suits your investment goals. Look at factors like past performance, risk level, and management team.

Decide on the amount: Determine how much you want to invest regularly. You can start with a small amount and increase it as you feel comfortable.

Use an SIP calculator online: Before committing, use an SIP calculator online to see how your investments might grow. Input your monthly investment amount, the duration, and the expected return. This will give you a better understanding of your financial goals.

Complete the application: Most mutual fund companies allow you to complete the application process online. You’ll need to provide some personal information, bank details, and identification.

Set up your SIP: Once your application is approved, set up your SIP. You’ll specify how much to invest and how often. The amount will be automatically deducted from your bank account.

Monitor your investment: While SIPs are meant for long-term investment, it’s good to review your portfolio occasionally. Check if your mutual fund portfolio is performing well and if it still aligns with your financial goals.

Things to remember before SIP investing

Stay committed: The key to successful SIP investing is to stay committed. There may be market ups and downs, but if you keep investing regularly, you are more likely to reach your financial goals.

Start early: The sooner you start your SIP, the more time your money has to grow. Even small amounts can add up significantly over the years.

Diversify: Consider investing in different types of mutual funds to spread risk. This can include equity funds, debt funds, or hybrid funds.

Conclusion

This Dhanteras, while you may be thinking about buying gold or silver, consider taking a step toward financial stability by starting an SIP in mutual funds. It’s an investment in your future that can lead to significant wealth creation over time. With the ease of setting up an SIP online and the power of compounding, you can turn this festive occasion into a fruitful investment journey. So, celebrate wisely and embrace a prosperous future!

Mutual Fund investments are subject to market risks, read all scheme related documents carefully.

“This situation has caused mental trauma, stress, and anxiety, posing a significant threat to their well-being.”

Moreover, many VRS employees are suffering from age-related ailments such as hypertension, diabetes, and thyroid conditions. Due to a lack of funds, they are unable to procure life-saving medications.” The delegation expressed that they feel compelled to consider suicide if their long-pending salaries are not paid.

Srinagar, Oct 11: In observance of World Arthritis Day on October 12, Paras Health Srinagar announced a special initiative aimed at promoting awareness and early diagnosis of arthritis.

From October 11 to 15, the hospital will provide free consultations for patients experiencing symptoms of arthritis in their outpatient department (OPD). This initiative emphasises the importance of understanding arthritis, recognizing its symptoms, and seeking early diagnosis for effective treatment.

Arthritis, an inflammatory joint disorder, affects an estimated 180 million people in India, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Alarmingly, one in three women over 60 suffers from this debilitating condition, and even young women in their 20s and 30s are increasingly affected. Arthritis can lead to significant health concerns, severely impacting quality of life and potentially evolving into life-threatening systemic issues if not diagnosed early.

Dr. Lubna Khurshid, Senior Consultant in Rheumatology, emphasizes the critical need for awareness, stating, “Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is more common in women, particularly between the ages of 20 and 60. Symptoms such as swelling, pain, and stiffness—especially in the morning—are common indicators. It’s essential to recognize that RA can extend beyond joint pain; it can also affect the lungs, eyes, skin, and mouth. For instance, it may cause inflammation and scarring of the lungs, leading to progressive lung disease. Early diagnosis is crucial because, while there is no specific cure for arthritis, treatments such as Disease-Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drugs (DMARDs) can help slow disease progression and preserve joint function.”

In addition to RA, there are over 100 types of arthritis, with osteoarthritis (OA) being one of the most prevalent. OA typically affects individuals over 50 years of age, causing wear and tear in weight-bearing joints such as the knees and hips. Symptoms include joint pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility, often linked to aging, joint injuries, obesity, and repetitive stress. Various diagnostic tests, including blood tests like the Rheumatoid Factor (RF) and Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR), as well as imaging tests such as X-rays and MRIs, are vital for confirming a diagnosis and determining the appropriate treatment plan.

Dr. Muhammad Haseeb Gani, Senior Consultant in Orthopaedics, adds, “Arthritis can be life-altering for many individuals. It’s vital to maintain a healthy lifestyle, including weight management and regular exercise, to reduce the risk. If conservative treatments, such as NSAIDs or physical therapy, don’t yield results, surgical options like joint replacement may be necessary. Early intervention is key, and I urge anyone facing joint pain or related symptoms to seek medical advice. Increasing awareness and education about arthritis is critical to help individuals understand the implications of their symptoms.”

Dr. Gautam Das, Zonal Director of Paras Health Srinagar, encourages everyone to take advantage of this opportunity for free consultations. “Understanding the signs and symptoms of arthritis, along with receiving an early diagnosis, can significantly impact management strategies and improve patients’ quality of life. We are equipped with advanced diagnostics and have expert orthopedists to manage various surgical interventions, including orthopedic trauma surgery, hip and knee joint replacement surgery, osteoarthritis treatment, back and neck pain treatment, bone infection and osteomyelitis, children’s orthopedic disorders, ligament injury and arthroscopic surgery, and complex fracture management. Let us promote a pain-free life,” he said.

Bandipora, Dec 07: Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) president Altaf Bukhari will contest the parliamentary election from north Kashmir, the party announced on Tuesday.

The decision was made after a party consensus, Dilawar Mir announced during a convention in Bandipora district, which was attended by a large number of the party supporters and workers.

While addressing the convention, senior Apni Party leader Dilawar Mir urged the people of north Kashmir to vote for Bukhari and ensure his victory with a huge margin.

Mir said the party’s sole aim was to bring development, employment, and peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

In his address, Altaf Bukhari said he would fight for equal rights for the people of the region and work for their welfare.

Bukhari reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir’s future was with India and that his party would not indulge in false promises or emotional slogans.

He said his party was ready to cooperate with any other party for the development of Kashmir.

He also launched a scathing attack on the National Conference (NC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accusing them of playing politics of deceit and lying to the people.

He said the Apni Party was different from them and would always speak the truth.

It is shocking that India abstained on a resolution overwhelmingly adopted by the UN General Assembly calling for a humanitarian truce titled ‘Protection of civilians and upholding legal and humanitarian obligations, in the ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza.”

They added that India’s abstention on a resolution that was overwhelmingly adopted shows the extent to which Indian foreign policy is being shaped .This negates India’s longstanding support to the Palestinian cause, the two leaders said.

“As the United Nations General Assembly adopted this resolution, Israel has stepped up its genocidal air and ground attacks in the Gaza strip. It has also cut off all communications in Gaza which is home to 2.2 million Palestinians. Respecting the overwhelming mandate of the UN General Assembly there must be an immediate ceasefire. The United Nations must reenergize itself to implement the mandate of the Security Council for a 2-State solution with pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the capital of State of Palestine,” Yechury and Raja said.
