Srinagar, Jan 1: Bringing laurels to Jammu and Kashmir, a class 11th student from Srinagar has secured first rank in the Indian Space Science Olympiad (ISS)- 2025.

A resident of Kanipora Baghat area on city outskirts, Ryhan Ibn Irshad secured the first rank in the event held at Indian Institute of Science (IIS) Bangaluru from December 27 to 29, 2025 .

The event was organised by Edu Mithra Intellectual Services Private Limited.

“This award is conferred in recognition of outstanding academic excellence, exceptional scientific aptitude and active participation, demonstrating a strong commitment to the field of Space Science and Technology,” reads the certificate awarded to Ryhan.

“The dedication and perseverance demonstrated are highly commendable,” the certificate reads.

Ryhan was enrolled at Unacademy offline centre Hyderpora and was regularly assisted by the faculty of Unacademy corporate headquarters Bengaluru.

Talking to Greater Kashmir, Director Unacademy Srinagar branch, Lateef Masudie congratulated Ryhan for this “huge success”.

“This achievement is outcome of the hard work and dedication of the student and the rigorous mentorship he received at Unacademy,” Masudie told Greater Kashmir.

He said Ryhan was enrolled at Unacademy offline centre Hyderpora and was regularly assisted by the faculty of Unacademy at corporate headquarter Bengaluru

“Ryhan has made the whole Kashmir proud,” he said.
